I am very pleased to be a part of the GPM
Team and have an opportunity to make a major contribution
to this exciting program. GPM is a great mission with dedicated
partners. I look forward to working with our team members
to make this program a major success.
I have been working in the aerospace industry for over 25
years. In 1991, I joined NASA and since then I have held positions
of Observatory Manager, Deputy Project Manager, Electrical
Engineering Deputy Chief, and Project Manager. I had key roles
in the development of the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer
(TOMS-EP) and Landsat-7, which led to successful launches
of both satellites. As the Deputy Project Manager for the
Polar Operational Environmental Satellites (POES), I led the
team to the successful launch of NOAA-K in the summer of 1998.
I also led the technical management of several in-house projects
at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), including the Burst
Array Telescope (Swift Observatory instrument), Gamma-ray
Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST), and Space Technology 5
(ST5), while serving as the Electrical Engineering Deputy
Chief. My recent assignment as the ST5 Project Manager led
to the successful launch and operation of the three ST5 satellites.

Prior to joining GSFC, I had key roles in the
development of the TOPEX/Poseidon observatory, while I held
the positions of Electrical Systems Manager and Integration
and Test Manager at Fairchild Space Company (now Orbital).
I also led several aircraft systems and subsystem developments
as the Senior Design and Project Lead at Sundstrand Aerospace
Company (now Hamilton Standard) prior to joining Fairchild
Space Company.
I graduated from the University of Illinois (Champaign/Urbana)
with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Aerospace
Engineering. I played collegiate level soccer for my university
and now enjoy the game of tennis, which is my second favorite
sport.
