My name is Masahiro Kojima. I graduated from Kyoto University with a masters
degree in applied mathematics and physics in engineering.
I joined NASDA (the predecessor to JAXA) in 1979. Since then,
I have worked mainly in the field of earth observation.
In 1990, I joined the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission
(TRMM) Precipitation Radar (PR) instrument development project,
and worked on that team until the completion of the PR on-orbit
checkout in 1997. After TRMM, I gained additional experience
on other satellite development projects, and was mainly responsible
for structural, thermal, and power subsystems.
When the JAXA GPM/Dual-frequency Precipitation Radar (DPR)
project team was formed on October 1, 2003, I was assigned
as the GPM/DPR project manager. Since then, I have been working
on the DPR development with my JAXA team members in collaboration
with the National Institute of Information and Communications
Technology (NICT) organization. NEC Toshiba Space Systems
(NTSpace) is the contractor responsible for supporting JAXA
and NICT on the DPR development/build. |
